New York Jets star Kris Boyd, shot in Manhattan, posts concerning update on his recovery

Kris Boyd, the New York Jets star who has shot in Manhattan two weeks ago, has had to return to hospital shortly after he was released to continue recovering at home.

Boyd, who recently became a father, was shot outside popular Asian-fusion restaurant Sei Less in Manhattan in the early hours of Sunday, November 16. The shooting had initially left him fighting for his life.

Days later, his Jets head coach Aaron Glenn had good news, telling reporters that Boyd was going to be ok.

This Thanksgiving though, Boyd is back in hospital.

He posted a short update on Instagram that said: ‘Please bare [sic] with me, I haven’t been in communication much. I was released but had to return to the hospital due to my health issues.

‘I love and appreciate every one of yall dearly who has prayed/reached out even if I can’t get back to you. Head HIGH. God is not through with me yet.’

The shocking incident near West 38th Street and Seventh Avenue is said to have occurred after a verbal dispute escalated, resulting in a gunman firing two shots. The suspect is still yet to be apprehended.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. Police say they are looking for a man who fled in a blue BMW in connection to the shooting.

Days after the shooting, Boyd posted on Instagram: ‘God is real, God is powerful! I’m sorry I have no words at the moment.. Just grateful!

‘I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now. Sincerely appreciate everyone!’
