The dust has barely settled on this year’s showpiece, but fans are already speculating about who will make it to the Super Bowl next season after the release of the 2027 logo.
Super Bowl LX proved a one-sided affair on Sunday night as the Seattle Seahawks stormed to a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, where Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny also took to the stage in an extravagant halftime show.
With the NFL season now over for another year, fans have a seven-month wait before their favorite teams start battling it out to make it to the end-of-season spectacle in 2027.
Yet they are already convinced they know which teams will be involved based on the logo for the game, which is set to take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Every year NFL fans believe the color of the Super Bowl emblem provides a clue as to who will make it there, with the 2026 effort including shades of blue, yellow, pink and green along with images of San Francisco’s skyline – leading to flawed claims that the likes of the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens would be involved.
While those predictions were wrong, social media is again taking a crack at guessing next year’s teams based on the logo for Super Bowl LXI, which appears to include an orange tiger-stripe print at the top before merging into a light-blue theme resembling water.

The Seattle Seahawks cruised to a dominant 29-13 win in this year’s showpiece on Sunday
‘That couldn’t be more Cincinnati and Jacksonville lol,’ one user claimed on X.
‘Clearly a bengals tiger stripe,’ another insisted.
A third user commented: ‘Seahawks-Bengals??’
A fourth put: ‘Seahawks broncos colors’.
‘Bengals eagles or jags bears,’ said a fifth.
While another fan joked: ‘Colors definitely not working anymore bc ain’t no way the @MiamiDolphins going’.
Others also pointed out that the logo was displayed for the first time on a purple background, suggesting it implies the Baltimore Ravens will make it to the Super Bowl in 2027.
The theories did not prove accurate for the 2026 game, as few anticipated a matchup between the Seahawks and Patriots at Levi’s Stadium.
Seattle ended their 12-year wait for a championship on the night after dominating a game which took a while to get going, with a touchdown not coming until the fourth quarter.
It was Seahawks kicker Jason Myers who provided the only points of a lackluster first half, slotting home three field goals to give them a 9-0 lead at the interval as the Patriots’ offensive line crumbled under pressure.

It proved a night to forget for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye as his team were well beaten
New England quarterback Drake Maye endured a nightmare outing, being sacked three times in the first half alone, prompting a furious reaction from coach Mike Vrabel on the sidelines.
As the break rolled around, social media was inundated with brutal remarks from fans, with many labeling the spectacle as one of the most ‘boring’ Super Bowls in history.
Myers kicked another field goal after halftime to extend the lead to 12-0, before quarterback Sam Darnold picked out AJ Barner for a 16-yard touchdown to put Seattle in the driving seat.
It seemed that the touchdown sparked life into the Patriots as, shortly after, they found the endzone themselves when Maye found Mack Hollins with a 35-yard missile, before Andy Borregales converted the extra point attempt.
However, in the end, it proved too little too late after Uchenna Nwosu recovered a fumble and returned it for a Seahawks touchdown following a Devon Witherspoon sack on Maye.
New England then added a final, albeit late, score when Rhamondre Stevenson caught a seven-yard pass from Maye for a touchdown with just over two minutes remaining.
