Fox Sports appears to be sticking with the scorebug it debuted during last season’s Super Bowl – despite the fact fans think it’s ‘incredibly bad’.
The broadcast network used the design once again during Sunday evening’s preseason game between the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field.
It marking the new scorebug’s first appearance since the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February.
At the time, the scorebug was not well received by fans and it seems that nothing has changed as it returned to screens on Sunday night.
While the general format of the scorebug remained the same, Fox did make one notable change, replacing the team initials with logos.
The updated version also included live player statistics in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

The addition of real-time stats was seen as a useful tweak and some viewers considered the logo substitution an improvement – however not all were convinced.
Taking to X, one wrote: ‘Horrible score bug on this bill/bears game rn’. Another said: ‘Forgot this putrid scorebug is permanent’.
In a similar tone, one user said: ‘I regret to inform you that the horrible Fox score bug from the last Super Bowl has returned’.
Another wrote: ‘This Fox score bug is one of the worst ideas anyone has had. It’s incredibly bad’.
‘Forgot about this score bug. It genuinely makes me unhappy and angry. Back to the drawing board @FoxSports’, one said.
It remains to be seen whether Fox will make further adjustments before the regular season begins or if this iteration is now the network’s standard moving forward.
