
NFL players will be able to compete in the 2028 Olympics after owners approved a resolution allowing them to suit up for flag football.
The sport will be making its debut at the 2028 Games, and there has been much debate on who from the NFL would represent the United States if pros were eligible.
Now, the league has confirmed that NFL stars will be granted permission to compete in flag football.
‘It’s an incredible honor for any athlete to represent their country in the Olympics, which is the pinnacle of global sport’ commissioner Roger Goodell said.
‘I know first-hand that the inclusion of flag football in the Olympics has sparked a tremendous amount of excitement among NFL players interested in the chance to compete for their country on the world stage. We are thrilled that they will now have the chance.’
