After being cleared of a serious injury, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Gardner Minshew has already made a full recovery ahead of free agency.
The 29-year-old was the replacement for Patrick Mahomes after the star Chiefs signal caller went down with a torn Achilles tendon late in the season.
With Mahomes out for the year, it was Minshew who was supposed to take over for the rest of the schedule.
However, he too went down with an injury – this time, a suspected torn ACL.
But, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, further tests revealed Minshew only suffered from a bone bruise to his knee.
The injury did not require surgery, Minshew has not suffered any serious damage requiring a long-term recovery, and he is already back to full strength.

Minshew’s contract is set to expire this offseason – with the quarterback now expected to hit the open market to sign with whichever team he pleases.
He will be on a long list of free agent passers who are free to sign with whoever they wish.
Among the most notable names are Daniel Jones, Russell Wilson and Marcus Mariota in addition to others.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also set to become a free agent, but a question about his retirement will hang over his name.
However, considering Mahomes’ injury and its uncertain recovery period, it’s possible that Minshew will be brought back into the fold.
