NFL star Baker Mayfield announces his wife is pregnant with a son: ‘I’m going to have a little s***head on my hands!
Baker Mayfield joked he will soon have a ‘little s***head on his hands’ after the Bucs quarterback revealed his wife is expecting their second child.
The couple confirmed this week that Mayfield’s wife, Emily, is pregnant. Photos showed the couple doing a ‘private’ gender reveal for their family.
‘New addition coming April 2026, and we couldn’t feel luckier,’ Emily wrote on social media. She gave birth to a daughter – Kova Jade – in April 2024 and now they are having a first son.
‘We can’t wait to welcome the newest Mayfield to our Krewe,’ the Bucs wrote in an Instagram post. ‘Congratulations, Baker and Emily!’
Mayfield spoke about the news on Wednesday and addressed whether he would let his son follow in his footsteps.
‘We did just a little private reveal – just the family,’ he said. ‘But it was obviously fun. Everyone is saying “Are you going to let him play football?'”

‘Do whatever you want,’ Mayfield added. ‘My parents didn’t want me to play football at a certain point.
‘If a kid wants to do something, you just encourage them to do whatever they want to do. And obviously try and handle that the best way. But I’m going to have a little s***head on my hands! That’s karma.’
Mayfield has previously confessed that ‘dirty diapers are not [his] specialty.’
The couple revealed the gender of their unborn son by cutting a cake which was blue on the inside.
The quarterback has been married to Emily since 2019. They met two years earlier after being introduced by a mutual friend.
This weekend, Mayfield is slated to be under center when the Bucs take on the Los Angeles Rams in a primetime game on Sunday night. But he is one of a number of Tampa Bay players who were limited in practice Wednesday as they battle illness.
