Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has not spoken on Slater’s status with early indications not being good for one of the elite tackles in the NFL.
Last month, Slater’s ex-wife, Stassney Brown, blasted NFL reporter Dov Kleiman over his ‘deplorable’ comment about the couple’s recent divorce.
Brown and Slater have gone their separate ways, with the split being publicized at the same time the offensive lineman’s new contract was signed.
Kleiman mostly reported the facts, with the divorce caveat before finishing his social media message – ‘talk about good timing.’
Brown has retorted to Kleiman, defending her ex-husband despite no longer being together.
‘This is deplorable. I hold nothing but support for Rashawn,’ Brown said on X. ‘His contract is not about me. I think we should focus on what’s most important here, and that is his career and his success. Please stop including me in this narrative. He deserves his moment.’
Kleiman responded quickly to Brown’s claim, with details of the timeline for the divorce not being publicized alongside his comments.
‘It wasn’t about you. It was about Rashawn keeping the money that he worked hard for. I didn’t mention your name. So you decide to draw more attention to yourself? But also claiming he deserves his moment,’ Kleiman said.
