NFL star heckled with cruel Charlie Kirk taunts just days after Stephen A. Smith on-air error

Days after Stephen A. Smith mistook Houston Texans wide receiver Christian Kirk for assassinated MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, video emerged of fans heckling the pass catcher by invoking the political figure.

Prior to the AFC Divisional round game between the Texans and the New England Patriots, the Foxborough faithful let the visitors hear their jeers and mocking comments.

No one was spared from starting quarterback CJ Stroud and star defensive end Will Anderson Jr to backup passer Davis Mills.

But when Kirk came into view, one Patriots fan in particular let him hear it.

After initially slipping himself and calling the pass catcher ‘Charlie Kirk’, the video cut away before the unseen man began ripping everyone as they stood waiting to run out onto the field.

‘Yo 17 [Texans star Braxton Berrios], you ain’t playin! Davis Mills, you suck! Christian Kirk! You ain’t even the most famous Kirk! No one knows you!’ the fan was heard yelling.

The joke comes days after Smith, the host of ESPN’s morning talk show ‘First Take’, committed a Freudian slip on live television.

Reflecting on Houston’s win over Pittsburgh in the Wild Card, Smith said, ”We saw Charlie Kirk catch eight receptions for 144 yards.’

The glaring error was quickly spotted by First Take host Shae Peppler Cornette, who immediately corrected the longtime sports analyst.

Smith, clearly mortified by the error, swiftly backtracked, saying: ‘I’m sorry, I apologize. Oh my God, I meant Christian Kirk.’

The internet still roasted Smith for the error at the time, but quickly turned it into a meme of its own with many ‘C. Kirk’ references posted in the days after the blunder.

Kirk – the wide receiver – caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s 28-16 playoff loss that ended their season.
