Well, this is awkward. Orlando Bloom is apparently set to rock up to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s big Venice wedding all by his lonesome, while the rumour mill thinks that he and Katy Perry have broken up.
According to TMZ, Orlando is “psyched to let loose” and “may make his debut as a single man during the festivities,” with one source promising, “He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!”
Apparently, he might even team up with Leonardo DiCaprio to hit the town. It’s like a sad pub crawl.
Katy Perry, his fiancée since 2019, is reportedly skipping the event entirely. Officially, she’s busy on her world tour, but TMZ’s sources say “there’s clearly trouble in paradise, and our sources say that could be very apparent during this week’s festivities in Venice”.
The Daily Mail’s insider adds, “Katy feels like they’re really her friends more than his, and yet he’s the one going to the wedding.”
She and Lauren did share 11 minutes in space and days of cancellation together, so their bond is unsurprising.
Katy really has not had a smooth run lately. With choosing to work with an accused sexual assaulter Dr Luke on her single “Woman’s World”, to becoming part of class war conversation after going on *that* space trip and her Lifetimes tour going viral for all the wrong reasons, she’s been going through it.
Sources told PEOPLE that the negative press has been tough on the couple, with one saying, “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”
Another added, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”
And if you’re wondering if it’s actually over, Page Six’s source didn’t mince words: “It’s over.”
The couple are apparently waiting for Perry’s tour to wrap before making anything official, but another PEOPLE source says their relationship is “pretty much done”.
Perry’s been spotted without her engagement ring, while Orlando’s about to be part of what one wedding guest told TMZ called the “10 per cent” of attendees who are “really fun, including Orlando, Leo and Jeff” — which, if you know anything about the guest list, is a pretty low bar.
