Panicked ABC bosses issue legal correction live on The View after Whoopi Goldberg makes outrageous Trump claim

The View’s Sunny Hostin passed Whoopi Goldberg a note that asked her to clarify a statement made about Donald Trump live on-air.
Goldberg, 69, responded by ripping the paper up.
The exchange happened during a discussion about Trump’s interview with 60 Minutes on Monday.
Hostin had just brought up the president’s comments about convicted Binance fraudster Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao.
Trump had told correspondent Norah O’Donnell he had no idea who ‘CZ’ was despite pardoning him during the interview.
Hostin, in turn, claimed the Trump family was profiting off his presidency. She went on to slam Trump’s past criticisms of Joe Biden’s last-minute pardons.
‘He said that Joe Biden didn’t know who he was pardoning using an autopen. How come you don’t know who this guy is?’ Hostin said.
Goldberg shot back, ‘because he used an autopen’. The conversation then steered toward Trump’s statements about ICE, and Hostin subtly passed the note across the table.

The Daily Mail learned the note came from a producer on the show.
‘What the hell? What?’ Goldberg said as she read. ‘We don’t know if Trump used an autopen to pardon.
‘It was a joke!’ Goldberg added while looking up at the audience.
Hostin chimed in: ‘Yes, we don’t know whether Trump used an autopen to pardon- ‘
Goldberg continued to complain during Hostin’s explanation.
‘Oh, come on!’ she said, before taking the time to rip the disclaimer to shreds.
‘Well, I’m sorry. The hardest thing about this job now is no one understands nuance.
‘You know when you hear a joke, when somebody’s fooling around, when they’re not saying something specific. Especially on this show/ I’m very specific when I’m…pointing stuff out. When I’m making jokes, you know when I’m making jokes!
Goldberg, seen Monday next to fellow panelist Ana Navarro, responded to the correction by ripping it up
‘This is ridiculous,’ she concluded.
The dustup comes roughly five months after the longtime View moderator faced criticism for on-air comments claiming that living in the United States as a black person is just as bad as living in Iran.
