Patrick and Brittany Mahomes react to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement with heartfelt tribute
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes led the congratulations after Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dropped the bombshell news that they are engaged.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his pop star girlfriend set the internet ablaze on Tuesday when they announced they are getting married after a whirlwind two-year romance.
Kelce and Mahomes have long had a strong bond – both on and off the field. In recent years, Swift and the quarterback’s wife, Brittany, have grown close too.
And minutes after the stunning announcement on social media, Mahomes celebrated his teammate’s news by sharing Swift’s post alongside three love hearts.
His wife, Brittany, posted her own tribute. ‘Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Just so happy for these two.’
The two couples enjoyed a day out at the US Open this time last year. Ahead of the 2024 campaign, meanwhile, Kelce revealed that another of their double dates was among his favorite moments of the summer.

It came in Amsterdam back in July 2024, shortly before the Chiefs returned to training camp. The Mahomes had joined Kelce in a private suite for Swift’s show in the Netherlands on July 6.
‘We were just having fun and enjoying a dinner just like anyone else would. That’s what makes it so great,’ Mahomes later said.
‘We don’t make it more than what it is; it’s just friendship, fellowship and enjoying everyone’s success.’
On Tuesday, Swift shared an selection of pictures showing Kelce down on one knee. Her Instagram post also included her song ‘So High School’, which she wrote about the Kansas City Chiefs great.
The couple first went public with their relationship back in September 2023, when the singer appeared at a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna.
Since that day, nearly three years ago, their romance has captivated the world. Swift has become a regular in the stands, supporting Kelce’s run to three straight Super Bowls, while the football star joined her on her wildly successful Eras tour.
The couple recently gave their first joint interview – of sorts – when Swift appeared on the Kelce brothers’ hit podcast, ‘New Heights’.
