Two police officers took to paddleboards to capture a suspect who had leapt into the water to evade arrest.
Bodycam footage shared by Florida’s Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) on Tuesday (17 March) shows a suspect sprinting away from law enforcement officials, who immediately began to pursue the individual.
Another clip shows a VSO deputy and a Daytona Beach Shores police officer using paddleboards to reach the suspect who had jumped into the Halifax River.
The suspect, Chase Cruz, 28, was then charged with loitering, prowling, and resisting arrest.
