A popular child booster seat has been pulled from shelves after fears it could cause serious injury and even death if used.
The backless booster seat, which can be used for children six to 12 years old, could be bought at Direct On Sale online.
It was sold between May 1 and April 30 this year, but has been recalled after failing to comply with the mandatory safety standards for child restraints used in vehicles.
The recall statement from the ACCC said there was a ‘risk of serious injury or death if the vehicle abruptly stops or is in an accident’.
Customers have been urged to stop using the seat immediately and return it to 6 Chevrolet Road, Cranbourne East, Victoria 3977, for a full refund.
‘Include your order number (if available), name, and address in the parcel,’ the recall said.
‘Send an email to help@directonsale.com.au with proof of purchase and courier receipt.’
