PR Vet Will Zang Launches Blade Vista Public Relations, Bridging Asian And U.S. Markets

EXCLUSIVE: PR veteran Will Zang is launching his own firm, Blade Vista Public Relations, a “boutique collective dedicated to supporting Asian, Asian American, and international films in navigating the U.S. media landscape.”

Zang, a native of China based in Los Angeles, brings more than a decade of experience to the new company, shepherding cross-border theatrical releases, streaming platforms, and awards campaigns. He has led North American publicity efforts for films distributed by Netflix, HBO, MTV Documentary Films, and National Geographic, building a reputation “for helping culturally nuanced and underrepresented works achieve critical visibility.”

In a statement, Zang said, “Blade Vista is more than a platform — it’s a mission. I created it to support global storytellers who are often overlooked in the mainstream. With roots in Asian film cultures and years of hands-on experience in the U.S. industry, I want to help these voices break through borders — not just geographically, but culturally and emotionally.”

‘Yadang: The Snitch’

Recent campaigns include the Korean crime thriller Yadang: The Snitchthe action drama The Old Woman with the Knifeand Banfa Chinese family drama directed and starring Erica Xia-Hou that held its world premiere at the 2025 Slamdance Film Festival in Los Angeles. “In each of these projects,” notes a release, “Zang played a key leadership role in shaping U.S. press strategy, curating media angles, and facilitating impactful coverage across trade, mainstream, and ethnic media outlets.”

Zang, who obtained degrees from the San Francisco Art Institute and the California College of the Arts, is also a filmmaker with numerous credits including the documentary feature Kink and the doc short Dress Up Like Mrs. Doubtfire. His dual experience as a filmmaker and publicist “allows him to deeply understand both the artistic and commercial dimensions of filmmaking, and to represent his clients with a uniquely empathetic perspective.”

Operating as an independent collective, Blade Vista Public Relations will offer “comprehensive services in publicity strategy, festival positioning, awards consulting, and media relations,” according to the release. In elevating the visibility of international cinema in North America, Zang sees Blade Vista as “a bridge between continents, communities, and audiences.”

Actor-director Erica Xia-Hou, who costarred with Jackie Chan in 2017’s Bleeding Steeland with Tony Leung Chiu-wai in 2025’s Fox Huntand directed the above-mentioned Banfis a recent Blade Vista client. “Will has a unique ability to translate a film’s cultural context for Western media without losing its soul,” she said. “He understands both sides of the table — he’s a creative and a strategist. His insight has been instrumental in shaping how our stories are received abroad.”
