A pregnant influencer’s mom has been accused of ‘sabotaging’ her gender reveal party by attempting to upstage the internet star.
TikTok creator and model Gianna Wulf recently took to the video-sharing platform to share the clip which featured overlaid text that read: ‘POV: your mom had to make your gender reveal about her.’
In the viral video, the mom-to-be stood alongside her husband in front of a crowd of family and friends.
The couple both held mini canons – filled with either blue or pink confetti to indicate the baby’s gender – which they both popped in front of their guests, who were excitedly counting down.
However, the cheer quickly came to a halt as the cannons revealed both pink and blue – much to the surprise of the couple.
As the duo looked around in confusion, Gianna’s mom, who was standing on a small garden wall next to them, held up her own balloon, which she popped to reveal light pink confetti, indicating the couple are having a girl.
‘Unfortunately, I had no idea I wouldn’t be revealing my own daughter’s gender,’ Gianna wrote on an extended version of the video. ‘Neither did anybody else.’
The clip was immediately flooded with comments accusing the model’s mom of hijacking the special moment.

‘This is so sad. Who makes someone else’s pregnancy about themself???’ asked one follower.
‘You’re face when you realized… I’m so sorry,’ sympathized another.
‘This is actually really sad. You only get that moment once and she took that from you even if her intentions were pure,’ agreed someone else.
Gianna later posted a lengthy clip to TikTok addressing the controversy, clarifying what happened and admitting her mom is ‘narcissistic.’
‘She gave my husband and I two separate confetti shooters, one was pink, one was blue – this was to confuse us and the crowd,’ she explained.
‘Then she stood next to us and popped the color which was pink, so she revealed we are gonna have a girl,’ Gianna explained.
The TikTok creator added the general feedback was that her mom was trying to take the attention away from her and that she needs to set boundaries.
Gianna’s mom then confirmed that ‘half the people are right,’ and she did it for the element of surprise and she wanted her daughter to go through ‘all’ the emotions.

She also declared she doesn’t feel bad about what she did, adding she was the ‘gender keeper’ and Gianna had trusted her with knowing the gender.
‘I’m not a narcissist, I love my daughter, we’re very close – I love my granddaughter,’ she insisted in the clip.
Gianna then hit back at some of the comments left on her video, which advised her to cut off contact with her mom.
‘Yeah she made it a little bit about herself, but that’s what she likes to do,’ the mom-to-be said.
‘And yes I did know this, that’s why I made her the gender keeper,’ she said.
