Princess Diana’s cult classic sweatshirt will soon be on sale for £60 – here’s how to get one
From frilly collars to killer dresses, Princess Diana had some iconic fashion looks over the years, but one which is still very much going strong in 2026 is the oversized sweatshirt and cycling shorts combo – just look at half the gym-goers in London if you don’t believe me.
Although Princess Diana wore this look in various iterations over the years, one of the most memorable moments was from November 1995, when she teamed a navy blue Virgin Atlantic branded jumper with orange cycling shorts, sunglasses and white trainers (plus the pulled-up ankle sock, which Gen Z would applaud right now).

Last year, to mark the 30th anniversary of Diana wearing this jumper, Virgin Atlantic relaunched it to the public, raising funds for Save the Children. The move was such a success that this year they are doing the same, with the Fly Virgin Atlantic jumper going on sale for £59 (£47 for children’s sizes). Available from 9am on 27th January, Virgin Atlantic has said that £10 from each sale will go to the charity Save the Children.
The Princess’ sweatshirt features a vintage printed Flying Lady motif
The Princess’ gym staple was an oversized navy-blue crew-neck sweatshirt with ribbed hem and cuffs. The vintage printed Flying Lady motif, which draws on the 1930s pin-up style, is set between the words ‘Fly’ and ‘Atlantic’, while the word ‘Virgin’ is featured within the cape.
