Quentin Tarantino forced to deny he is dead after X post claimed he was victim of missile attack in Israel

Quentin Tarantino has not been killed in a missile attack in Israel despite social media rumors amid strikes in Iran.

After being approached by the Daily Mail, a representative for the Oscar-winning director, 62, denied that the filmmaker had perished via ‘an Iranian missile in Tel Aviv.’

The claim went viral on X. User @TheWapplehouse, who boasts more than 150,000 followers, suggested Tarantino had been killed, crediting Deadline. The post has been liked over 1,500 times.

The Hollywood trade publication has since confirmed that it was erroneously cited as the source.

Elon Musk’s X has continued to struggle to suppress misinformation and toxic content despite utilizing community notes and its AI platform, Grok.

Tarantino has lived in Tel Aviv with his Israeli wife, Daniella Pick, and their two children for the last four years.

He said in a 2021 interview that Tel Aviv is like a smaller version of Los Angeles with ‘magnificent restaurants, cool bars, cool clubs.’

Tarantino and his wife met in 2009 when the director premiered his film Inglourious Basterds in Israel.

The latest escalation, known as Operation Epic Fury, has seen Iran launching attacks at Israel and at US and allied bases in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

A total of 555 people have been killed across Iran since the start of the strikes that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior leaders, the Iranian Red Crescent said Monday.

Israel’s rescue services said nine people were killed and 28 wounded in a strike that hit a synagogue in the central town of Beit Shemesh, bringing the overall death toll in the country to 11.

Another 11 people were still missing after the strike, police said.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump says the war could go on for the next four weeks.

Yesterday, the President told the Daily Mail: ‘It’s always been a four-week process. We figured it will be four weeks or so. It’s always been about a four-week process so – as strong as it is, it’s a big country, it’ll take four weeks – or less.’

Trump urged Iranians to ‘seize control of your destiny’ and rise up against the Islamic leadership that has ruled the nation since 1979 in a video shared on Truth Social on Saturday after the strikes.

Trump confirmed the Ayatollah had been killed in one of the volleys on Sunday, after the claim was initially made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu echoed Trump’s call for change in a statement Saturday that claimed the military operation will create ‘the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their fate into their own hands.’

Persians were seen celebrating news of Khamenei’s death in several cities across the US and in Iran over the weekend. Many in the US remain opposed to interfering with the Islamic Republic regime.
