New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a new armoured vehicle production facility set up by Tata Advanced Systems in Morocco during his two-day visit to the North African nation from September 22-23. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian defence minister to Morocco, at the invitation of Minister Delegate of National Defence Abdeltif Loudiyi.
The facility at Berrechid, established by Tata Advanced Systems Maroc, will manufacture the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) 8×8. It will be the first Indian defence plant in Africa, officials said, calling it a milestone under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
