Revealed: The one episode of Full Swing Amanda Balionis does NOT feature in after Rory McIlroy opened up on divorce U-turn

Amanda Balionis has been a familiar face throughout Full Swing Season 3, appearing in multiple episodes of Netflix’s hit golf docuseries. However, viewers were quick to notice her absence in one key episode—the one that delves into Rory McIlroy’s brief divorce proceedings and subsequent reconciliation with his wife, Erica Stoll.
The episode, which explores McIlroy’s personal struggles during a turbulent period in 2024, is the only one in which Balionis does not feature. This has sparked speculation among fans, as the broadcaster has been a prominent presence in Full Swing, conducting interviews and providing insight throughout the series.
McIlroy filed for divorce from Stoll in May 2024 after seven years of marriage, a move that surprised many in the golf world. However, just weeks later, he confirmed that the couple had worked through their differences and decided to stay together. ‘Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together,’ McIlroy stated in June 2024.
Despite her absence from the episode, Balionis remains an integral part of Full Swing, contributing to multiple other installments. Netflix and Balionis have not commented on why she did not appear in the episode covering McIlroy’s personal struggles, leaving room for speculation as to whether it was a production decision or a personal choice.
Around the same time McIlroy filed for divorce, he and Balionis were seen sharing friendly interactions during post-round interviews, which fuelled speculation about a possible romantic relationship between the two.
For instance, following McIlroy’s victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he shared a warm hug with Balionis during the post-tournament interview, further intensifying the rumours.

However, these speculations were addressed and dismissed by credible sources. Reports clarified that McIlroy and Balionis maintained a strictly professional relationship, and there was no romantic involvement between them.
Additionally, Balionis was married to football coach Bryn Renner in 2022, although eagled-eyed viewers noted she was live on TV without her wedding ring, leading to further speculation about her personal life.
However, Balionis – who was seen without her wedding ring for the best part of a year – is reportedly still married to Renner and has transitioned from golf to NFL broadcasting.
When announcing her move to the NFL, Balionis wrote on Instagram: ‘This year had it all. From historic moments to heart-shattering events and every other emotion you can imagine in between. I love this game. I love working in sports.
‘Competing at the highest level requires and produces constant examples of inspiration, drama, unbridled joy, resilience, growth and teamwork,’ Balionis went on.
‘It’s an honor to be a very small part of a tremendous team that brings these moments and stories to life each weekend. If we left you with one new favorite player, or one memorable moment you shared with loved ones than we have done our jobs. Catch ya on the NFL sidelines until next season!’
She also shared a slideshow of snaps, in which she was seen interviewing players – including McIlroy – and presenting at several tournaments.
