Rihanna has rare fashion miss in bizarre pink dress which resembles bed sheet as she leads worst dressed stars at Gotham Film Awards

Rihanna suffered a rare fashion fail at the Gotham Film Awards on Sunday evening.

The 37-year-old superstar was dressed in a bizarre pink dress resembling a bed sheet for the tradition kickoff to the annual awards season in New York City.

She ended up leading the worst dressed stars on the red carpet, which saw Chloe Sevigny, Kristen Stewart and Jacob Elordi among others in jaw-dropping looks.

The Grammy-winning musician and makeup mogul was joined by her partner, rapper ASAP Rocky, who went for a traditional albeit oversize suit for the occasion.

Meanwhile, Rihanna went above and beyond while dressed in the puffy, off-the-shoulder dress with a floor-sweeping train.

She added more to look at with black, pleather opera gloves and a tall hat covered in baby pink feathers to complete her look.

A stunning necklace with colorful gems bedazzled her neck, and she looked radiant in a monochromatic pink makeup look to top it all off.

At the event, she was not alone as a plethora of A-list stars dressed to impress in their most standout looks to kick off movie awards season.

Chloe Sevigny also went for a bold pop of color for the annual award ceremony as she showed up in a bright green, velvet shift dress with a boxy, oversize silhouette that overwhelmed her svelte figure. 

She paired the long-sleeved dress, which featured a massive, gunmetal detail around her neck, with sheer tights and dramatically pointy, slingback kitten heels. 

The actress and fashion trendsetter, 51, completed her look with her blonde hair pinned up with waves framing her face.

She added a muted mauve lipstick to juxtapose her bright and colorful dress.

Kristen Stewart, 35, walked the red carpet in a cropped blazer with a matching tweed skirt, both a bit oversize for a added casual detail. 

A Chanel ambassador since 2013, she paired the gray co-ord with a sheer black top and burgundy leather pumps. 

Her jet black hair styled in a messy topknot and blunt micro bangs added an edgy touch to her otherwise business-looking outfit. 

She completed her look with a grungy makeup look paired with silver chains around her neck. 

Jacob Elordi, 28, wore an all-gray outfit with different tones and textures for the event where he was joined by his mother Melissa Elordi on the red carpet. 

The Frankenstein star wore a long, tweed peacoat jacket layered over an oversize suit of a darker gray shade. 

He paired the suit with a light gray, silk button-down and a dark, patterned tie to complete his look. 

His mom wore a complementing, all-black outfit with a classic, chic silhouette. 

Zoey Deutch showed off her dark hair transformation as she arrived in a bright yellow, textured dress covered in feathers made out of shiny plastic. 

The actress slicked back her raven black hair for her red carpet ready look. 

Teyana Taylor also went for the apparent theme of feathers for the Gotham Film Awards as she walked the red carpet in a voluminous crimson skirt with structured hip bustles for an exaggerated silhouette. 

The skirt with a long train was ornate with colorful feathers, and the actress paired the pop of color with a white silk blouse and white heels with a black toecap. 

Riley Keough went for a patterned, red look as she wore a long-sleeved shift dress with a drop hem skirt with inspired petals with what appeared to be flower imagery on them. 

The nepo baby actress teamed the busy dress with black, patent leather sandal heels and white, acrylic hoops. 

Jessie Buckley also went for an eye-catching look as she wore a black frock turned modern with a cream, silk details peeking out underneath as her skirt was designed to look like it was being pulled up and to the side. 

She paired the contemporary garment with black, leather pumps and dainty stud earrings for her award ceremony outfit. 

Amanda Seyfried turned heads with an added hot pink feather detail, front and center of her skintight, black dress with a thigh-high slit. 

She paired the dress with sparkly, black platform heels and a pink lip gloss to match the appliqué ornate across her chest. 

Felicity Jones was modeling a black, halter dress, which appeared inspired by medieval armor. 

Layers of black, leather fringe paired with circular, silver studs added interesting texture to her dress. 

Imogen Poots also went for a colorful look like many of the other stars at the award ceremony. 

The Chronology of Water actress wore a royal purple dress with a short-sleeved cape design and a thigh-high slit with ruching bunching all the way to the top. 

She also wore the black, dramatically pointy stilettos currently popular among many other Hollywood mainstays.
