Robert Irwin Just Won Dancing With The Stars US & Gave A Sweet Shoutout To His Dad

Robert Irwin has officially shimmied, twirled and dad-joked his way to the top, snagging the Dancing With The Stars US Mirror Ball trophy a whole decade after his sis Bindi Irwin took out the same crown. What an iconic family tradition!

The Aussie babe has been a massive talking point this season, from his hot as hell shirtless dances to his celebrity guest stars.

Teamed up with pro ballroom weapon Witney Carson, the 21-year-old wildlife kingpin delivered banger routines every week, steadily winning over the judges and a growing global fanbase who apparently cannot resist an Irwin in sequins.

He went head-to-head with a stacked finale lineup featuring influencer Alix Earle, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, Parent Trap legend Elaine Hendrix, and Dylan Efron — yes, Zac’s brother.

The supersized three-hour finale had all five duos smash out three dances each, with judges’ scores and audience votes mashed together to decide the champ. And in the end, our boy Rob took it home.

Irwin hit the finale already banged up with a rib injury, forcing Carson to rejig their choreo so he didn’t fully snap in half on live TV. Even then, he was just one measly point shy of a perfect score after his first routine.

He copped 29 out of 30 to kick things off, then came roaring back with back-to-back perfect scores for his final two dances because apparently pain means nothing when you’re an Irwin with something to prove.

After his last number, Robert broke down in tears and said he just wanted to make his dad proud — and yep, that’s your cue to start crying too.

“I wish he could see it, I really wish he could be here,” he said.

Back in 2015, a then-17-year-old Bindi Irwin smashed her Dancing With The Stars season, so Robert’s win basically cements the Irwins as a full-blown dance dynasty now.

The show — currently in its 34th season, somehow — pulled around six million same-day viewers this year, with younger audiences tuning in more than ever, according to Nielsen. And honestly, a chunk of that is probably thanks to Rob, whose weekly routines were blowing up YouTube with millions of views, absolutely eclipsing his competitors.

His win is just the latest shiny milestone in what’s quickly becoming a pretty wild, sky-rocketing career trajectory.
