The innovative system, named Posokh (Pikestaff), uses laser techniques to selectively burn explosives, facilitating security removal operations safely and reduces the risks associated with traditional methods, especially when dealing with unexploded munitions, thermal explosive ammunition, various types of ground mines, and air strikes with drones. The system is characterized by a ability to cleanse fixed goals within a range between 30 and 700 meters, which gives it effective over a large area.
Lazerbuzz confirmed that the device is lightweight and small, and it can be operated with only two people. “The system can be transferred using light vehicles, and it takes less than 10 minutes to install,” said one of the company’s representatives. The device includes an electronic visual unit compound on a triple holder that is installed at a safe distance from the target, and operators control it remotely via a tablet or endoscope, to direct the laser accurately before activating it, ensuring the safety and accuracy of the process.
The company pointed out that this technology greatly enhances the safety of the soldiers assigned to remove human mines, especially in the conflict areas in Ukraine full of mines and unexploded ammunition. The use of the laser is a safer alternative to traditional explosive methods that involve high risks and great complications, as the crew can work from a distance of up to 700 meters, which significantly reduces exposure.
