
A shooting near Union Station has sparked chaos in downtown Washington, DC.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and a crowd of teenagers were seen scattering.
At least one person was detained after struggling to get away from cops.
Emergency radio scanner traffic indicated that one victim was shot in the ankle and was in a stable condition, being transported to a local hospital.
The Metropolitan Police told the Daily Mail that officers responded to gunshots at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue at 4.15pm on Friday.
‘Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound, in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue NE,’ a spokesman said.
‘DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. There is no lookout at this time.’
