Singularity AMC backs Lohia Aerospace as India steps up push into high-value aerostructures
The investment adds to growing private capital interest in India’s aerospace and defence supply chain, which has been supported by rising defence exports, increasing domestic procurement and government incentives aimed at reducing import dependence. India’s aerospace and defence sector, valued at about $27.4 billion, is expected to reach $54.4 billion by 2033, growing at nearly 7% annually.
“We are delighted to partner with Singularity AMC as we strengthen our position in the global aerospace and defence manufacturing landscape,” said Anurag Lohia, managing director of Lohia Aerospace. “Their investment accelerates our vision of building a world-class composites and advanced materials platform from India,” he said, adding that the partnership would help expand product capabilities and deepen global relationships.
Lohia Aerospace, founded in 2021 by the Lohia family, designs and manufactures complex composite materials and structures used in aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and next-generation defence platforms. The company supplies composite components, assemblies and aerostructures to global aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers, according to the company.
Singularity AMC, a growth-equity investment platform backed by investor Madhusudan Kela and led by Yash Kela, said Lohia Aerospace’s manufacturing depth and quality focus were key considerations behind the investment.
“Lohia Aerospace has built strong capabilities in design and manufacturing of advanced composite structures and systems,” said Sandeep Bapat, co-chief investment officer at Singularity AMC. “We have been particularly impressed by the company’s world class manufacturing facilities and strong focus on quality,” he said.
Composite materials remain key to modern aerospace platforms, driven by demand for lighter, stronger and more fuel-efficient aircraft. “Composite materials are at the core of the Aerospace and Defence sector,” said Pratik Agarwal, principal at Singularity AMC, adding that Lohia Aerospace has built robust capability in this domain with strong execution record of accomplishment in exports.”Singularity AMC said it plans to support Lohia Aerospace as it scales manufacturing and increases its participation in global aerospace supply chains, positioning the company to benefit from what it described as a multi-decade growth opportunity in advanced materials and defence manufacturing.
