Six individuals were transported to the hospital following a significant incident at a Boston transit station on Friday, which prompted a large police presence and a partial shutdown of the facility.
The event unfolded late Friday morning at the Forest Hills station in the city’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
City Councilor Benjamin Weber stated on X that a transit officer was involved. Multiple units from Boston EMS responded to the scene, and a spokesperson confirmed that six people were taken to area hospitals.
The station’s upper busway was closed around 11:15 a.m., with bus services rerouted to an alternative section.
A Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority police dispatcher declined to provide information over the phone, and emails sent to MBTA media contacts went unanswered. A Boston Police dispatcher confirmed that city officers were assisting MBTA police.
Online video footage depicted more than a dozen police vehicles and at least two ambulances outside the station. Officers were visible behind yellow police tape, which cordoned off a wide area near the station entrance.
