Snooker star opens up on the secrets of his stunning body transformation which has seen him shed three stone

Former world snooker champion Stuart Bingham has opened up on the three stone he lost after turning to Mounjaro injections.

The 49-year-old, who triumphed at the Crucible back in 2015, went from 18 stone to 15 stone in the months after he started using the prescription weight-loss medication in November 2024.

It’s left him ‘feeling a million dollars’, London-born Bingham told The Sun this week, and even eradicated the ‘aches and pains’ he was experiencing at his heaviest.

‘This time last year I think I must have already lost a couple of stone,’ the snooker star said. ‘So I was touching 18 stone before it came off.

‘I felt good. Funnily enough I had a bit of knee trouble and a bit of sciatica. By losing that weight, all the aches and pains slowly and gradually went away.

‘I didn’t realise it to be fair but I felt so much better in myself. Obviously the clothes started to be baggy and I couldn’t eat as much but felt a million dollars.’

Mounjaro is a weight-loss medication now used by tens of thousands of people across Britain bidding to lose weight.

Injected once a week, it makes those using it feel fuller for longer, according to the NHS, thereby suppressing their appetite.

And for Bingham, it’s done just that. The potter admitted this week that he eats not near as much as he used to since going on the jab.

‘To be fair with the injections, it makes you forget to eat,’ he added. ‘Like the other day, I had a banana for breakfast and then something late at night.

‘Whereas before I’d always pick throughout the day, have a sandwich, breakfast and a main meal. Now I’m eating once or possibly twice a day.

‘Christmas was hard. I put on half a stone beforehand with the Shoot Out and Scottish Open – I was enjoying a few Guinesses.’

Bingham reached the final of the Shoot Out earlier this month, which he ultimately lost to the unranked Alfie Burden.

He’s next set to be in action at the three-day Seniors British Open in Derby, starting today, which is to be held at the city’s new Vaillant Live arena.
