Stephen A. Smith tears Kristi Noem apart for excruciating answer over alleged Corey Lewandowski affair

Stephen A. Smith has blasted former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after she refused to give a simple ‘no’ to questions regarding her alleged affair with top advisor Corey Lewandowski.
The tense exchange occurred during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, just 24 hours before Donald Trump officially fired her from his Cabinet.
Noem, whose husband, Bryon, was watching from the gallery, reacted with visible fury when Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove asked if she had engaged in ‘sexual relations’ with Lewandowski.
Rather than issuing a direct denial, the then-DHS chief branded the line of questioning as ‘tabloid garbage’ and a personal attack on conservative women.
As the footage went viral, Stephen A. Smith argued that Noem’s failure to say ‘no’ was interpreted by many as a massive admission of guilt.
‘When you’re asked a question, if you are engaged in an extramarital affair with a subordinate, with your husband in attendance, the first words out of your mouth had damn well better be ‘no’ or ‘hell no’,’ Smith shouted during a segment on his ‘Straight Shooter‘ YouTube show.

‘You see the equivocation: “I cannot believe we’re going down this road. It’s sleazy. It’s garbage.” Is there a no?!’ Smith continued.
‘I’m speaking as a man. The answer had better damn well be “no”. Those are the first words that are supposed to come out of your mouth. And the only thing that’s potentially supposed to come out of your mouth before “no” is “hell”.
‘Anything else and your a** is guilty in our mind. Do you know anything about men? The second we think you’re guilty of that, there’s very little you can do to convince us otherwise.
‘We’re just counting the days upon which we’re going to deal with your transgression. There ain’t a man alive that would tell you I’m wrong about what I just said.’
Smith argued that anything other than an immediate and forceful denial creates a narrative that is nearly impossible to reverse in the eyes of a spouse.
‘That woman did not say no,’ he continued. ‘If I’m Kristi Noem and I love my man, I’m not worried about being connected with the Department of Homeland Security anymore. I’m worried about how life’s going to be when I get home.’
After two days of grilling before the Senate and House Judiciary Committees on Tuesday and Wednesday, President Trump finally pulled the plug on Noem’s highly-contentious appointment.
She was confronted by Republicans over issues repeatedly highlighted in the Daily Mail’s exclusive reporting: the deadly immigration crackdown, lavish spending, and her alleged affair with aide Lewandowski. Both Noem and Lewandowski have denied the affair.

Later on Thursday, Trump announced that Senator Mullin of Oklahoma would be nominated to become the next DHS Secretary. Mullin’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
‘I am pleased to announce that the Highly Respected United States Senator from the Great State of Oklahoma, Markwayne Mullin, will become the United States Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), effective March 31, 2026,’ Trump posted on Truth Social.
‘The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!),’ Trump wrote. She will now become Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, a new White House security initiative, the President added.
In a statement to X (formerly Twitter) following her firing, Noem thanked the President and claimed that under her leadership, she delivered the ‘most secure border in American history.’
