Stunning UFC star left unrecognizable after brutal bloody defeat at Madison Square Garden

Glamorous UFC star Tracey Cortez was left bloodied and bruised after her fight against Erin Blanchfield on Saturday night.

Cortez, who has become a favorite among UFC fans for his striking looks, suffered a submission defeat in the second round of their fight at Madison Square Garden.

However, in the lead-up to the submission, Cortez absorbed some brutal strikes from her American counterpart and was left looking unrecognizable come the end.

In photos shortly after she tapped to the rear-naked choke that Blanchfield sunk in, Cortez was seen crouched on the canvas as blood trickled down her forehead.

The 31-year-old had a number of noticeable cuts across her face and suffered from some swelling around her right eye after taking some huge shots from Blanchfield.

In one exchange early on in the fight, Blanchfield executed a swift and decisive combo which opened up the cut above Cortez’s eye.

Though there were moments were the momentum swung in Cortez’s favor, she struggled to assert herself in the fight and will be looking to improve next time out.

It marked the first time that Cortez has been finished during her UFC career, having only previously lost on decision to Rose Namajunas back in July last year.

Earlier on the pre-lim card, Ethyn Ewing shocked the crowd at Madison Square Garden after a dominant performance saw him beat Malcolm Wellmaker on just two days notice.
