
Police have made an arrest after the deaths of a woman and man in a suspected stabbing at a home in Sydney’s northwest.
Emergency services were called to an Illabo Street home in Quakers Hill just before 5am on Sunday after reports of a disturbance.
They arrived to find a man lying on the footpath, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The body of a woman aged in her 30s was found inside the home.
She is yet to be formally identified.
The critically injured man aged in his 30s was treated at the scene before he was rushed to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
Detectives established a crime scene and cordoned off the street.
Forensic teams combed the home and quiet suburban street for evidence as police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A man, 47, attended Blacktown Police Station shortly after the incident, where he was arrested.
He is assisting detectives with their inquiries.
No charges have yet been laid.
Police have not disclosed the relationship between those involved.
Shocked neighbours were woken by a commotion outside at about 4.30am, followed by ‘pure silence’ until police arrived
‘There was a couple of brief crashes … and then a lady screamed,’ one man told the ABC.
‘Just to know that it can happen anywhere … is awful.’
Strike Force Acoma has been set up to investigate the incident.
Police are expected to provide an update later on Sunday.
