Sydney’s Harbour Bridge has been brought to a standstill with traffic banked up for kilometres as police and ambulance crews respond to a self-harm incident.
‘As it is a self-harm incident – we won’t be providing comment,’ a NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail.
NSW Ambulance said it had deployed ‘multiple resources’ to the scene.
The Cahill Expressway is closed northbound over Circular Quay with drivers urged to use the Sydney Harbour Tunnel instead.
Lane one northbound is also closed on the bridge, with heavy northbound traffic building on the Western Distributor.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow directions of emergency services and traffic crews.
More to come.
