Sydney suburb thrown into chaos as tactical police hunt down man armed with metal bar on a rooftop

A man has been arrested following a stand-off with police that forced a school and strip of stores into lockdown.
NSW Police were called to a shopping centre in Telopea, west Sydney, about 12pm on Tuesday following reports of a man acting suspicious.
Officers from the Ryde Police Area Command found the shirtless man on the roof of a strip of shops armed with a metal pole and he allegedly refused to come down.
Nearby Telopea Public School and the stores beneath the man were locked down.
Dramatic footage of the arrest showed the tense stand-off finally came to an end when two heavily-armed officers climbed onto the roof and tackled the man.
Non-lethal bean bag rounds were used to subdue him.
The man was arrested and taken to Gladesville Police Station.
No injuries were reported.
