Terrifying moment UFC star collapses on stage during live broadcast… just 24 hours before Las Vegas fight
UFC fans have been left shocked and concerned after a fighter collapsed on stage after weighing in for his fight at UFC 324 this weekend.
On Friday morning, bantamweight star Cameron Smotherman took to the stage to weigh in ahead of his fight against Ricky Turcios on Saturday evening.
The American fighter successfully made weight at 135.5 pounds but immediately fainted after stepping off the scale – sparking major concern inside the arena.
Smotherman initially stumbled before falling face-first onto the floor. He appeared unresponsive for a moment before medical staff quickly rushed to his assistance.
The shocking incident was captured on the UFC’s Morning Weigh-In Show and left the program’s hosts stunned. ‘That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that,’ one remarked.
While producers quickly cut away from the horrific scene, fans in attendance caught the aftermath of his terrifying fall and videos quickly began circulating social media.
It showed Smotherman being tended to by medics as he returned to consciousness, before being helped backstage by team members and taken to hospital.
It is expected that his fight against Turcios will now be cancelled.
