The 2025 Emmy nominations have arrived — cue the social feeds absolutely losing it. This year’s list delivers all the drama: Apple TV+’s Severance dominated with 27 nods, while plenty of crowd favourites found themselves with their jaws on the floor.
Here’s your breakdown of who got the glory, who’s been snubbed, and when to set your Emmy watch party alarm. The Emmys never disappoint when it comes to shaking things up — let’s get into it.
Who got snubbed from the 77th Emmy Awards nominations?
Every year, half the Emmy voters seem to be swinging through the awards list like they’re at a warehouse fire sale — somehow missing all the prime stuff on the shelves. 2025’s nominations are no exception, with entire fandoms left scratching their heads (or sharpening pitchforks). Here are the unlucky divas who were snubbed from this year’s Emmy nominations:
Squid Game
Netflix’s global juggernaut Squid Game got iced out for its second season, despite winning six Emmys back in the day. The series’ third and final season will be eligible for next year’s awards.
Elisabeth Moss & The Handmaid’s Tale
Once the darling of the Television Academy, The Handmaid’s Tale now and Elisabeth Moss fell short this year. Moss and her powerhouse cast were almost completely blanked for their final season.
Yellowjackets
From smashing into the Emmys with ten nominations across its first two seasons to getting exactly zilch for its third, Yellowjackets went from buzzworthy to missing in action and I’ll never forgive Emmy voters for it.
Jon Hamm
The Mad Men legend didn’t even get a whiff of the action for his return to centre stage in Your Friends & Neighbors, a series that only landed a theme song nom.
Ted Danson
With 18 nominations and two wins on his résumé, you’d figure anything with Ted Danson would at least get a participation ribbon for his role in A Man on the Inside. Nope. This year’s clever senior-citizen caper was left behind, proving that not even TV royalty is safe from the dreaded snub.

Selena Gomez & Diego Luna
Despite Only Murders in the Building picking up several nods, Selena Gomez somehow missed out on acting love again, while Andor’s Diego Luna was left behind too — even though his own show bagged a healthy stack of nominations. Sometimes, the lead is just too obvious, I guess.
Talk show drama
The Best Talk Series category shrank to three spots, leaving solid regulars like Late Night With Seth Meyers and Hot Ones out in the cold.
Industry
Industry — the messy HBO drama about the finance industry which gives me flashbacks to all the finance bros I’ve unfortunately date — earned not a single acting nomination, even with a cast oozing with cult status. Did Emmy voters even watch or were they too busy consulting their own accountants in panic?
