The father of Keith Urban’s rumoured new partner has spoken out, days after news broke of the country singer’s split from Aussie actress Nicole Kidman.

Reports of the power couple’s separation after 19 years of marriage emerged on Tuesday, with insiders claiming they have been “living separate lives” and that the decision to split was initiated by Keith.
In the aftermath, rumours began swirling around Keith’s supposed new relationship, with some speculating that he has moved on with 25-year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh, who forms part of his touring band.
Now, Maggie’s dad Chuck Baugh has found himself in the crosshairs of a Daily Mail reporter, asking him all about his daughter’s rumoured love life.
“I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him,” Chuck told the reporter.
“It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing,” he added, while admitting that he hasn’t “heard one way or the other” in terms of their romance.
Chuck also revealed he met Keith last year during a concert in Las Vegas.
Chuck’s inability to confirm nor deny will do little to quiet the speculation around Maggie, which erupted this week after insiders claimed Keith has already moved on “with a younger woman in the business”.
Urban’s rumoured new flame is apparently “the gossip all over town” in his hometown of Nashville, with attention turning to Maggie as more sources claimed the pair have “been a thing for a few months”.
The rumours reached fever pitch when, just days before news of their separation, Keith name-dropped Maggie during a live performance of his song “The Fighter”.
The original lyrics were inspired by Nicole, but Keith instead sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player”, which ignited romance rumours when footage of the lyric-change was discovered by fans.
Of course, the pair’s supposed relationship remains unconfirmed, but it adds to a whirlwind of chatter that has circled Keith and Nicole after their split, including that the separation was driven by their busy work schedules.
Elsewhere, we got wind of an unverified “cocaine clause” within the pair’s prenup, which supposedly awards Keith bucketloads of cash from Nicole for every year he stayed away from drugs and alcohol while they were together.
Neither party has publicly addressed their split, and my guess is that rumours will continue flying until their inevitable request for ‘privacy during this time’.
