As a daily matcha drinker, I’m very particular about the mugs and cups I use. It’s not intentional – it’s just that when something is part of your everyday routine, you want it to feel right. Recently, I realised that the easiest way to make my kitchen feel more put-together wasn’t a full overhaul, but simply upgrading the pieces I reach for most. H&M’s latest stoneware collection does exactly that, and it’s made my morning matcha (and the occasional coffee) feel noticeably more elevated.

What I love most is how considered everything looks, while still being genuinely affordable. The espresso cups are a great example. They’re simple, slightly textured, and look far more expensive than they are. Even though matcha is my default, I like having these on hand when friends visit – they instantly make everything feel more styled and intentional.

The mugs, though, are the real scene-stealers. The stoneware mugs come in soft, muted tones that instantly remind me of my favourite independent cafés. They’re perfectly weighted and look especially good left out on open shelves. I’ve also been reaching for the softly fluted stoneware mug on slower mornings, while the drip-glazed mugs bring that handcrafted feel that elevates even the simplest oat latte.

Naturally, it was the matcha pieces that won me over completely. The stoneware matcha set makes the whole process – from whisking to pouring – feel elevated. Paired with the stoneware matcha mug, it turns a quick afternoon reset into something I genuinely look forward to. It’s those small, sensory details that make the difference.

That’s what I love most about this collection. It doesn’t just upgrade your drinkware – it transforms your entire kitchen into a space you want to linger in. Suddenly, my morning matcha feels less like a routine and more like a ritual, and my kitchen has quietly become my favourite café of all.
