Tom Brady’s crisis-hit Las Vegas Raiders fire OC Chip Kelly hours after losing to Shedeur Sanders’ Cleveland Browns

With the Las Vegas Raiders in a full-blown crisis, Tom Brady’s NFL team have fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

The move was ruthlessly made hours after the Raiders lost 24-10 to the Cleveland Browns, who had Shedeur Sanders making his first NFL start for the visitng team.

The Raiders have the joint-second worst record in the NFL this season at 2-9 after Brady, who has a minority ownership stake in the organization, helped lead a promising offseason of upheavel in Sin City.

The Raiders signed star defensive end Maxx Crosby to a new deal, hired Pete Carroll as head coach, traded for a new quarterback in Geno Smith and took impressive running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round of the NFL Draft.

They also hired Kelly back in February, splashing the cash to get him in. He agreed to join a $6million-a-year contract, which made him the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the NFL.

But Smith especially has struggled for the AFC West team – he was sacked 10 times in the Browns loss – while Carroll may be feeling as if the walls are closing in on him as the season hits new lows.

The Raiders also fired special teams coordinator Tom McMahon earlier in November, too. The firing of Kelly was first reported by ESPN.

Speaking after the Browns loss, Crosby pulled no punches on the state of his team.

‘At this point, you’re not playing for the playoffs, which is unfortunate, but you just have to keep showing up every day, stay positive, and keep working,’ he told reporters from the locker room.

‘You play for the love of the game, and we’re in the NFL. Nothing is guaranteed, and tomorrow is not guaranteed for anybody. You should keep showing up and keep working.’

The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Raiders as they already desperately look for signs of promise for the 2026 campaign.

They have AFC West rivals Los Angeles Chargers next, who are fresh off a bye week and know they have to win with the Kansas City Chiefs breathing down their necks.

After that, they take on Denver Broncos followed by Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles.

Ironically, Brady was accused of passing on quarterback Sanders in the Draft this year, where the signal caller out of Colorado surprisingly slipped down into the fifth round.

At the time, an insider close to Brady exclusively told Daily Mail back in April that it was untrue and that ‘the next time that Tom talks to Shedeur, the advice he will bestow on him is to work as hard as possible and have everyone pay, including the Raiders for not drafting him.’

Sanders did exactly that on Sunday, finally getting his chance to start an NFL game.

‘The fact that I got an opportunity, and I was able to show the organization, show everybody who I really am, it’s truly exciting,’ he told reporters.

‘I was off balance for a little bit, the past couple of months of my life, but it was different. But I’m thankful to be back where I am.’
