Traumatized reporter tells Trump how Antifa militants gave her a black eye outside Portland’s ICE facility

A reporter who was allegedly attacked by a savage protester outside a Portland ICE facility recounted her harrowing experience to Donald Trump.

Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt shared her testimony at Trump’s roundtable focused on Antifa violence on Wednesday.

‘Today, I am sitting here with a black eye and a concussion after being violently hit in the face with a metal pole while reporting outside the ICE facility just this past week,’ Daviscourt said.

The bruised journalist claimed that after the vicious confrontation, she went to three different city police officers for help – but they ‘refused to detain the suspect.’

She alleged she ‘chased down’ the attacker on her own and ‘had her held for 35 minutes’ while she waited for police to arrive, although ‘they never came.’

‘That’s what opened my eyes to what this group is actually doing,’ she said.

‘I watched 20 Antifa militants help my assault suspect escape into an Antifa safe house that is one block away from the ICE facility.

‘This group is highly organized, it is being funded through mutual aid groups and they have no plans of stopping.’

She went on to claim that Portland residents have been ‘held hostage’ by Antifa protestors and are living in fear, urging Trump to ‘restore law and order’ in the city.

Daviscourt said that when protests first erupted, she went ‘undercover’ for about a month to learn why the demonstrators were occupying Portland.

‘They believe that ICE agents are the Nazi gazpacho who need to be killed,’ she explained.

‘Thank you, Katie,’ Trump said in response to her roundtable contribution. ‘That’s pretty incredible.

‘They only question nobody can answer is why are they [Antifa protestors] doing this?

‘They are insurrectionists, they are terrible people, but you really wonder why, why are they doing it?

‘What are they gaining other than they’re obviously paid, they’re paid a lot of money.’

Turning Point USA contributor and political commentator Savanah Hernandez then responded with the claim that the administration has been made out to be full of ‘Nazis and fascists’ by some media outlets.

In a series of jaw-dropping X posts, Daviscourt chronicled how she was allegedly struck in the face by a ruthless anti-fascist protestor at the end of September.

One video Daviscourt filmed shows a blond-haired, masked woman wearing oversized glasses in a group of other demonstrators waving a Palestinian flag and allegedly hitting her in the face with the metal flag pole.

‘She was at the January 6 riot!’ someone from the mob is heard repeatedly yelling.

‘She just hit me in the face!’ Daviscourt says in the heart-pounding clip.

In another video from the aftermath of the incident, Daviscourt is seen following the alleged suspect as she walks along with another person to seek ‘refuge in the Antifa tent encampment.’

‘That’s what it’s been like covering Portland for the past four months. Complete lawlessness,’ she said, describing the hectic state of the city.

She described ‘several blocks’ of the city that are ‘completely controlled’ by Antifa protesters, who harass, assault and threaten anyone who they see to be a threat to their cause.’

‘The Trump administration is absolutely correct in deploying federal troops here because Portland police has completely abandoned this zone,’ she told the Fox host.

‘They refuse to go in and everyone that shows up is one their own.’

She said the administration must start ‘treating Antifa like ISIS’ and ‘put an end to them here for good.’

Portland police issued a press release on October 1, asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman who allegedly harmed Daviscourt.

According to the release, Daviscourt had flagged down a Dialogue Liaison Officer (DLO) when she was struck.

The department explained that as a DLO officer, he ‘cannot get involved in enforcement action.’ The Major Crimes Unit is probing the attack.

‘The Dialogue Officer attempted to talk to the suspect to hear her side of the story. She would not stop, so the DLO told her she was being detained. She refused the lawful police order to stop and she fled,’ police said.

Daviscourt has been on the grounds, covering the chaotic ICE protests that broke out in front of Portland ICE facilities over the summer.

At the same time, similar demonstrations broke out in other major cities, including Los Angeles.

On September 27, Trump declared he would send ‘all necessary Troops’ to Portland to protect the city and its ICE facilities ‘from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.’

He wanted to federally activate 200 members of Oregon’s National Guard to quell protests at an ICE facility in the city.

However, Oregon officials have fiercely pushed back against the president’s plan, with the state swiftly filing a motion to block National Guard troops from patrolling the city.

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson also asserted that there is no need for a National Guard presence.

Trump had also ordered 300 California National Guard personnel to move to Portland, sparking outrage from Governor Gavin Newsom.

In a statement, Newsom confirmed he was seeking legal action against the administration over the use of his state’s National Guard in Portland, Oregon.

He said: ‘We’re suing Donald Trump. His deployment of the California National Guard to Oregon isn’t about crime.

‘It’s about power. He is using our military as political pawns to build up his own ego. It’s appalling. It’s un-American. And it must stop.’

Illinois and Chicago also sued Trump over the deployment of National Guard troops into the city. But a federal judge declined to immediately block the Trump administration from doing so.
