An overload of drinks led to one UConn men’s basketball player vomiting all over the court during a game against DePaul on Sunday evening.
Huskies guard Silas Demary Jr. was seen sprinting off the floor after teammate Alex Karaban committed a foul.
After the whistle blew to stop the play, Demary ran off the court and couldn’t keep the contents of his stomach down.
He ran to the opposite side of the court from his own locker room, with Demary later seen running back down the UConn tunnel.
UConn coach Dan Hurley was seen following Demary to check in on his player.
Following the game, Hurley posted to his X account, ‘I just spoke to Silas on the plane…He’s feeling great now…the problem on the court was that he mixed an electrolyte drink with pickle juice at Halftime.’

His coach, Dan Hurley, said a combo of electrolyte drink and pickle juice turned his stomach
Demary returned to the game and dropped 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists
Hurley added, ‘That was obviously a mistake.’
Demary posted to his Instagram Story after the game with an image of his hand covering his face with the caption, ‘i’m good everybody’ and multiple laughing emojis.
Athletes drinking pickle juice is commonly used to replace electrolytes, but it also helps to prevent cramping.
The combination of the salty electrolyte drink and the salty pickle juice must have upset his stomach – leading to the disgusting scene.
After cleaning up, Demary returned to the game and finished with a final stat line of 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in a 72-54 victory for the No. 5 Huskies.
Karaban led Connecticut with 21 points and six rebounds as center Tarris Reed Jr. put up 14 points and 11 rebounds.
