Unilever chief Fernando Fernandez eyes £20m payday

Unilever’s boss could be paid as much as £20.5million under a bumper remuneration package announced yesterday.

The changes announced in the consumer goods giant’s annual report will reduce Fernando Fernandez’s basic salary but increase the maximum available long-term share awards to 700 per cent of that sum.

Fernandez, who was promoted from finance director to chief executive last March, received £4.9million for 2025 as a whole across both roles. 

That included salary and benefits totalling £1.8million plus bonuses totalling £3.1million.

The Hellmann’s mayonnaise maker said it had decided to review its pay policies a year ahead of schedule to help ‘set the organisation up for success’.
