Urgent recall for Tesco products with incorrect use-by dates with potential ‘microbiological risk’
Tesco has urgently recalled an array of Tesco products which have the incorrect use-by dates and pose a ‘microbiological risk’.
The supermarket has recalled a selection of goods with the Food Standards Agency issuing a do not eat notice for customers.
The affected foodstuffs are from Tesco’s pate range and include Tesco Coarse Farmhouse Pate, Tesco Coarse Ardennes Pate and Tesco Smooth Chicken Liver Pate.
According to the supermarket, the products have been given the incorrect use by date of January 5 and ‘may pose a microbiological risk and may therefore make the product unsafe to eat’.
The recalled products all weight 170g and the aforementioned use by date.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all Tesco stores that are selling the pates.

These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.
Customers can return the products without a receipt and receive a full refund.
In a statement, the Food Standards Agency said: ‘Tesco is recalling various Tesco Pates as they have been labelled with an incorrect use by date printed on the pack. The products may pose a microbiological risk, making them unsafe to eat.
‘If you have bought any of the above products, please do not consume them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were purchased for a full refund. For further information, please contact the Contact page on the Tesco website.’
