Wednesday’s Hunter Doohan Chats Missing Lady Gaga’s S2 Arrival

Wednesday star Hunter Doohan has revealed his biggest regret from filming season two, and it’s far scarier than anything that’s come out of the Wednesday Addams universe to date.

Over the weekend, Doohan — alongside his Wednesday cast mates Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie and Emma Myers and director Tim Burton — descended on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island for the fan festival extravaganza ‘Wednesday Island’.

On the purple carpet, Doohan spilled on what’s coming up for his character Tyler Galpin, as well as his biggest regret from season two: missing out on meeting Lady Gaga.

ICYMI, the pop star is set to make an appearance as Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher at Nevermore Academy, in part two, but Doohan was (tragically) unable to meet her on set.

“I’ve got to stop talking about this in interviews, I’m being so annoying,” Doohan told PEDESTRIAN.TV of missing out on a Gaga meeting.

“[I’ve] joked that it was a hate crime, we were laughing about it,” he added.

“I wasn’t even in the country when she was [on set], I was visiting London while she was there.”

Doohan went on to say that the mistimed schedule was particularly frustrating because, like many things in Wednesday, he’s a Little Monster and is “such a huge fan”.

“It’s hard for me to even wrap my head around that we’re even involved in the same project at all, so I’m over the moon about it,” he said.

While specific details around Gaga’s Wednesday character have been kept under wraps, Doohan did reveal his top three Gaga tracks, even though “they’re always changing”.

“Right now I’m really loving ‘Scheiße’. I’m loving ‘Killah’, and I mean, ‘Bad Romance’ is just one of the best pop songs ever written,” Doohan said.

Elsewhere, Doohan told PEDESTRIAN.TV he enjoys Tyler’s season two villain era because he “loves someone that does bad stuff”, and said the stunt work in Wednesday is a slice of “movie magic”.

“I love seeing that side of filming and how much goes into it,” Doohan said of the stunts. “It would be impossible without out insanely talented crew.”

Part two of Wednesday season two spans four episodes, all of which will be available when it hits Netflix on Wednesday (duh!), September 3.
