Wimbledon 2025 live: Latest tennis scores and results as Dan Evans eyes huge Novak Djokovic upset

Tarvet reflects on ‘most special day’
Afterwards, Tarvet admitted the experience was the most special day of his life.
“It’s not every day that you get to play against maybe the best player in the world,” said the right-hander from St Albans.
“So yeah, it was really important for me going into the match to enjoy it, enjoy the opportunity.
“I think I did a pretty good job of kind of enjoying the moment and trying to also play some good tennis at the same time.
“I kind of knew that the first set might be difficult because it’s not a stage that I’m used to. Even though the first set scoreline was 6-1, I still had break points in three games. I definitely had chances. I think that should give me confidence that I was competing.
“Credit to him, he plays the big points just incredibly well. That’s the difference. You kind of feel like you’re in the set, you lose it 6-1, it’s tough.
“But yeah, even though it was not the result that I wanted today, it was definitely the most special day of my life.”

Oliver Tarvet’s Wimbledon battle with Carlos Alcaraz flies flag for US college route to tennis
Play the ball, not the player, said Ollie Tarvet before the biggest match of his life against reigning Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. The flaw was that the ball came at the world No 733 faster than ever before, with more topspin revs and at a more devilish angle.
It was still the same sport as his wins on the US college scene in front of a few dozen spectators. And yet this was almost another game entirely, like how laying cheese on bread under the grill is, only technically, cooking.
Alcaraz’s 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 victory came in two parts. The first set felt like a regular muggle playing tennis against the world No 2 on Centre Court. Never before had Tarvet faced a player who combines such extreme levels of speed and spin with unerring accuracy, such that Alcaraz’s groundstrokes rushed over the net before dipping into far-flung corners of the court, hitting 38 winners in all.
Yet the latter two sets of his victory were different. Tarvet’s eyes began to calibrate, adjusting to the flight of the ball in the same way players adjust from clay to grass. He broke serve in the second set, and again in the third as if to prove it was no fluke. How many Centre Court debutants wilt in the spotlight against great champions?
The 21-year-old blossomed in the afternoon sunshine, fist-pumping his way around the court, each point a little confirmation of what he already suspected: that he could cope out here.

Sonay Kartal open to suggestions over her next tattoo after reaching third round
Sonay Kartal is feeling increasingly sure-footed on the grass of Wimbledon – but is still mulling over how to immortalise her latest impressive run in ink.
The 23-year-old continued her love affair with Court Three by brushing aside Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Tomova 6-2 6-2 in just over an hour to reach the third round for the second straight year.
Kartal has a large collection of tattoos and is planning to add another after the end of the tournament, with the British number three calling on fans to help her choose.

Katie Boulter worried her Wimbledon moment may never come
Yesterday was a bad day for British women’s No 2 Katie Boulter who suffered a shock 6-7 (7) 6-2 6-1 defeat to little-known Argentinian rookie Solana Sierra in the second round.
Boulter had impressively downed ninth seed Paula Badosa in round one but having never advanced beyond the third round of a grand slam, she fears her Wimbledon moment may never come.
“Of course it hurts, it’s a really tough pill to swallow – it always is here,” said Boulter.
“Unfortunately it’s just the way that it is. Sometimes I just have to accept that my moment might not come at some point.
“I’m just going to keep working hard and keep trying my hardest. Ultimately that’s all I can do and keep putting myself out there and keep improving every single year.
“You can look at a piece of paper and be like, ‘oh, this is a terrible loss’. Ultimately, she played better than me on the day. That’s how it is.”

What is electronic line calling (ELC)? Wimbledon’s new Hawk-Eye Live system explained
Electronic line calling (ELC) technology is being implemented at Wimbledon for the 2025 Championships, bringing to an end the role of the line judge after 147 years patrolling the courts in SW19.
The tournament venue has taken the decision to install ELC on all 18 match courts, including Centre Court and Court One.

Draper trying to find ‘best level’ on grass
“I think grass in general is a surface I’m still trying to find my best level on,” said British No 1, Jack Draper, ahead of his second round clash with Marin Cilic.
He continued: “On the hard courts at US Open, even on the clay this year, I think I found my best level for what I can play right now. I feel like I haven’t yet found that on the grass.
“I feel like it’s coming, so I’m looking forward to that, that moment when it all sort of comes together and I can really show my best level.”

Jack Draper determined to unlock his grass-court game as he eyes Wimbledon first
Jack Draper has a warning for his rivals – he is still finding his way on grass.
The fourth seed breezed into the second round of Wimbledon, dropping just five games in little over an hour before Sebastian Baez withdrew injured early in the third set.
The Argentinian had slipped in the opening game of the second set but Draper was utterly in control from the first point of the contest.

‘There’s no better feeling than winning at Wimbledon’
More reaction from Emma Raducanu’s victory yesterday with the British No 1 claiming there is ‘no better feeling’ than winning matches at Wimbledon.
Raducanu said: “I think that was one of the best matches I’ve played in a long time. At the same time, I didn’t feel like I was doing anything outrageous, which gives me a lot of confidence.
“I think I was just doing the basics very, very well. I think I executed really well today. I’m just so happy to have that level.
“I think there’s no better feeling than winning here at Wimbledon, winning on Centre Court. It honestly makes everything worth it. You forget about everything, all the ups and downs, when you’re out there and you win. It’s so fleeting.”

Raducanu delighted with Vondrousva performance
Emma Raducanu says she ‘feels amazing’ after reaching the third round at Wimbledon with a superb 6-3 6-3 victory over former champion Marketa Vondrousova.
“I feel amazing,” said a beaming Raducanu after her win. “I think that was just a really great match. Playing Marketa, I knew it was going to be very challenging.
“She’s won Wimbledon. She’s in amazing form right now having won Berlin. I’m just very proud of how I went out there and competed and kept committing and came through that one.”

Emma Raducanu offers Wimbledon a crucial reminder of what it should mean to support her
The last four years have been strange for Emma Raducanu. On one hand, she has long been trying to recapture the form of her breakthrough season, when she reached the fourth round at Wimbledon before sealing a stunning victory at the US Open.
On the other hand, she has been trying to distance herself from that 2021 campaign, and the consensus among many in the tennis world is that the 22-year-old should not be held to those standards.
