‘Young Sherlock’ Gets Premiere Date At Prime Video As Teaser Charts Detective’s Origin Story

After 15 years, Guy Ritchie is on the case once again with Prime Video‘s Young Sherlockhis latest take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective.

On Thursday, Prime released the first teaser for the Ritchie-helmed series starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the titular sleuth, announcing that all eight episodes will premiere March 4 on the steamer.

In Young SherlockHolmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and venturing abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.

The series also stars Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth.

Based on Andrew Lane’s spin-off book series, Ritchie directs the first two episodes and executive produces Young Sherlock. The show comes after he helmed Sherlock Holmes (2009) and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011).

Created for television and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, EPs include Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson and co-executive producers Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson. Motive Pictures led physical production for Young Sherlock.
