Woman sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for infecting more than 40 men with HIV

A court in Uzbekistan has sentenced a local woman to 6.5 years in prison for intentionally infecting more than 40 men with HIV during intercourse.

The criminal case was filed against the 27-year-old woman from Kagan City under an article published in March of this year, titled “The Spread of a Venereal Disease or HIV/AIDS.”

According to the investigation, although the suspect has been registered at the regional AIDS center since December 2017, she has not stopped having an intimate relationship with different men without using protective equipment.
