China’s economy records the highest growth in ten years

The National Bureau of Statistics of the People’s Republic of China said that in 2021 the Chinese economy showed a record growth of 8.1% over the past ten years.

According to preliminary estimates, the country’s GDP last year was 114.3 trillion yuan (more than 18 trillion dollars). The agricultural sector brought the economy 8.3 trillion yuan (1.3 trillion dollars), the industry grew to 45 trillion yuan (7 trillion dollars), and the service sector – nearly 61 trillion yuan (about 9.6 trillion dollars).

The Chinese economy showed the highest growth in the first quarter of 2021 – 18.3%. The lowest rates were at the end of the year – in the fourth quarter, GDP grew by only 4%. Overall, Beijing indicated that the economy continues to recover, and that all development goals for 2021 have been achieved.

In 2020, against the background of the epidemic and the crisis arising from it, China showed a record decline in economic growth in 40 years – its GDP increased by only 2.2%.
