Pope calls for a day of prayer for peace

Pope Francis, during a traditional sermon in Saint Peter’s Square, announced a day of prayer for peace on January 26 regarding the situation across Ukraine.

“I am following with great concern the growing tension, which threatens to strike a new blow to the world in Ukraine and put into question the security of the European continent. Given the situation, I propose to hold a day of prayer for peace on January 26.

The West, in recent months, and Ukraine in particular, has begun to hear statements about Russia’s imminent “invasion” of Ukraine.
