Google urges users to urgently update the browser
The developers of the popular Google Chrome browser have discovered a vulnerability that is being actively exploited by cybercriminals, and the company has urged users to urgently upgrade their versions of Windows, macOS and Linux.
The zero-day vulnerability has been named CVE-2022-1096. Google is refusing to reveal the details yet, so most users will first update their browsers as soon as possible.
It should be noted that a cybersecurity specialist reported the breach. Successful exploitation of such errors allows attackers to run arbitrary code, including malware.
The previous fix for the zero-day vulnerability in Chrome was released in February 2022. The vulnerability allowed hackers to break out of the browser’s sandbox and scan other victims’ programs.
