Maria Dizzia, John Bedford Lloyd & Gabe Fazio Join Indie Drama ‘Plainclothes’

EXCLUSIVE: Maria Dizzia (My Old Ass), John Bedford Lloyd (Ozark) and Gabe Fazio (Maestro) have been set for supporting roles in Plainclothesa new indie drama from writer-director Carmen Emmi.

Currently shooting in New York, the film stars Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey, with Amy Forsyth and Christian Cooke in additional supporting roles. Set in the ’90s and inspired by true events, it watches as a working-class undercover officer is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets.

Producers include Arthur Landon, Colby Cote, and Eric Podwall on behalf of Page 1 Entertainment and Lorton Entertainment. Alex Wenger and April Kelley are co-producing.

Just recently wrapping a series regular role in the first season of Apple TV+’s Billy Crystal series WinstonDizzia also appears in the comedy My Old Asswhich was snapped up by Amazon MGM after world premiering to rave reviews at Sundance, and is slated to hit limited theaters on August 2. Also featuring in the drama We Strangerswhich premiered this month at SXSW, she recurs on Paramount+‘s School Spirits and will also be seen in a recurring role on Marvel’s Agatha.

Best known for his role as Kansas City mob boss Frank Cosgrove on Netflix’s Azark, Lloyd’s latest film, Bad Shabboswill premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June. Recently, he’s also been seen on series like Law & Order and The Equalizeramong others.

Seen in Bradley Cooper’s films A Star Is Born and MaestroFazio has also appeared in titles like The Good Nurse and The Place Beyond the Pines. TV credits include I Know This Much Is True and Law & Order.

Dizzia is represented by Gersh and Perennial Entertainment. Lloyd is repped by CESD. Fazio is with the Harden Curtis Kirsten Riley Agency.
