New York Jets acquire Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles as team reloads for season No 2 with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback

Ahead of their second season with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the New York Jets are reloading, acquiring Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick on Friday from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reddick was dealt by the Eagles for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which could change to a top-two-round pick based on the linebacker’s performance.

The Eagles’ linebacking corps was a little crowded after the team signed Bryce Huff from the Jets in free agency on a three-year, $51.1million deal.

Now Reddick will head to the AFC, where he hopes to be part of the resurgence in New York.

It’ll be the first AFC team Reddick pays for after previous stops with the Panthers and Cardinals.

Reddick’s addition signals a larger plan from Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas.

Rodgers will turn 41 in December and will be coming off of Achilles surgery for his next NFL snaps.

There is a limited window to how long New York could contend for a playoff spot with Rodgers running the offense.

Rodgers’ season ended after four offensive snaps in 2023 when he tore his Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. The team finished 7-10 without him.

Now, with a healthy Rodgers and Reddick on the roster, the Jets will look to make a push for the postseason again.
