Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child: ‘The greatest gift of all’

Sophie Delezio is pregnant with her first child.

The miracle double car crash survivor shared the wonderful news on social media on Wednesday evening alongside a gallery of celebratory images. 

In the first picture, Sophie and her partner Joseph are seen proudly posing on the beach in Sydney’s Manly. 

The couple look elated as they both cradle Sophie’s growing baby bump.

In a second image, Sophie reveals a close-up image of her ultrasound on her smart phone, while a third picture shows the inspirational Australian clutching her blossoming belly. 

In a final frame, Joseph looks every inch the proud father-to-be as he smiles for the camera. 

Sophie captioned the carousel of images simply.  

‘The greatest gift of all coming in September!’ she wrote alongside a baby face and heart emoji.

It wasn’t long before the post was inundated with well-wishers.   

‘Congratulations,’ wrote Cody Simpson’s mother, Angie. 

‘Congratulations,’ added former Hi-5 star-turned-Getaway reporter Charli Robinson 

‘The most amazing news,’ added one more.

‘Congratulations to you both makes me so happy to see great joy come into your life after everything you have been through,’ commented one more. 

Ms Delezio first entered public consciousness as a little toddler when she was the victim of a horrific car crash that left her with burns to 85 per cent of her body.

In 2003 a car crashed through the window of a Sydney childcare centre and little Sophie was trapped under the burning car.

Then in 2006, she was tragically struck again by a car near her home.

She suffered a brain injury and heart attack in the crash.

Her remarkable survival story gave her a special place in the hearts of many Australians.

In 2023, she became engaged to childhood friend Joseph.
